International seminar on the protection of hospital workers from occupational risks related to carcinogens

Cancer is the leading cause of work-related deaths in Europe.
According to the estimates of the International Labour Organisation and the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, more than 120 000 people in the European Union are newly diagnosed with cancer every year as the result of occupational exposure. More than one 100,000 die each year from occupational cancers.
On 3rd September 2021, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities of the Republic of Slovenia presented the international online seminar on the protection of hospital workers from occupational risks related to carcinogens as part of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union programme and the Roadmap on Carcinogens.
The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), medical institutions and experts from Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain presented the latest research and good practice examples on protection of hospital workers from the occupational risks related to carcinogens.
